Hatched from a green candle the instant a chart broke resistance, Uptard has never once looked down — partly out of principle, mostly because his head is a fixed arrow and looking down isn't structurally possible.

He wears the suit because he respects the culture. He wears the blue tie because blue is the only colour he trusts besides green. There's a note sewn into the jacket lining that just says “UP.” He has never needed to read it.
